Blooms and wishes - Global design project

I love the designer- Michelle Last-we are casing today-her style is so beautiful-especially the card we are casing today. I love the textured background of the woodlands embossing folder- stunning!

and other designers take on her design

Here is my take on the design-I used the frame in Michelle's card as inspiration-I thought it was so clever!

Blooms and wishes-In tones of blue, with pops
of our new in colour-lemon lime twist

You might notice the BIG rhinestone from the centre of the dapper denim flower.... I did something a little different (for me) behind it- it produced a very sparkly result!
Heres how I did it-
1-I stamped the stamens (a stamp from the blooms and wishes stamp set) in versa mark ink.
2- I then sprinkled it with heat and stick powder (-a powder glue that works well with our glitter.)
3-heat set it to "melt" the glue.
4-I then sprinkled it with gold glitter.
5-With a final blast from the heat gun to "set" the glue with the glitter, and popped a rhinestone on top. Boom! ULTIMATE BLING!!!

Blooms and Wishes
I actually created the pink toned card first-using the new Very vanilla ultra thick card stock as my base-The pinks created a really soft look, which I really liked. I'm challenging myself to use the new Lemon lime twist, because when I first saw it, I actually said-" oh. EWWWW! WHY???"
I really hated it, but-I have to say, it adds real ZING to a colour palette. I'm actually think I'm really going to LOVE this colour.
This was a SUPER quick, SUPER easy card to create-just stamp, layer and go. I think adding that little bit of layering and tiny bits of (scrap) ribbon finished it nicely!

The sentiment in the pink toned card is in the amazing Blooms and Wishes stamp set, which is, I'm happy to say, going to be in our new catalog next year, as it's being carried over. Unfortunately, though, the stamp set that I got the sentiment on the blue toned card is from Grateful Bunch, which is NOT being carried over into the new catalog-so get it while you can!!!

Blooms and wishes- in pinks-with lemon lime twist!
I really enjoyed creating these cards- here are the colours I chose-I hope you are inspired to use them yourself!
Blooms and wishes-and the colours I used.
Enjoy the last remaining day of the week- and have a great weekend- I hope you get to squeeze in some creativity too!

Eastern Palace Suite- Global design project

Has your craft area ever been in such a mess that you have thrown a brand new item out? I seriously thought I had. so much so, that I did an entire clean out of my craft area.... and I still didn't find it... UNTIL I was looking at a promotional video of said item, and realised that the packaging was different to what I was looking for.... and had another look, at 11.50 pm. BOOM! found it!
What had me in such a state?

I had gotten the BRAND NEW Eastern Palace suite of products, a preorder specialty bundle that demonstrators are able to purchase currently, and thought I had thrown away the STUNNING tassels, which come in the Bundle.

Check out this GORGEOUS suite-isn't it just amazing?
Whats REALLY amazing, is its available to not just demonstrators-but starting May 1, it's available to YOU-The Stampin' Up! loving public!! I'll be posting more samples (this time with tassels! lol) and info on this SPECIAL pre release of products next week!

The previously Lost Eastern Palace
I actually thought the richness of the colours in the suite went really well with the current GDP challenge that I entered earlier this week, so thought I would have another go...

How stunning are the dies in this suite?

I hope you  have enjoyed todays post, this little appetiser of good things to come!

So in love, so sad to see you go... Global design project

Hello!!!! Autumn is Defiantly here. It's starting to get COOOOOLLLLLDDDD. (insert sad face here.....) But this weeks global design project challenge insets a little fun, and brightness into, my, and the person I give this card to... day.

I LOVE this challenge-I'm a lover of bling (MANY people have heard me say in class-You can NEVER have too much bling!) So I really enjoyed todays card.
Here is my entry-

So in love bundle-sparkle, and bling!

I just think is so elegant-I love it. It would make a great Wedding , or anniversary card. I chose to make a "just for you card" because I want to send another RAK card....Are you in our RAK group?
-what does RAK group mean I hear you ask!-RAK stands for "Random act of kindness" Facebook  group. All lovers of Stampin up- Demonstrators and customers together-send cards all over the world to bring happiness and cheer to people randomly each month. HOW lovely! Isn't it brilliant to get a handmade card in the mail? We get so much frustration and stress in our mail box-to get a little bundle of cheer is just THE BEST! Why not make someones day, Join our RAK group today and start sending and receiving cards TODAY!

How this card came about, was, I was creating my card kits for this months online class. (see the pic below, In this months class we are making the card at the bottom) The kit uses some die cutting from the So in love stamp set and bundle. I was SHOCKED that so in love didn't make it into the new annual catalog. Its SO gorgeous. Especially the dies.

So in Love bundle paired with the special reason bundle
So I wanted to have a go at using the belly band die-Something not available, to my knowledge, ANYWHERE- so get it while you can- It creates a wrap around Belly band that can be used for cards- but today, instead of a slip-off belly band, I wrapped the edges around the front layer of the card and highlighted my sentiment with it.

How I created the card-

I randomly gold heat embossed the lovely Flower image out of the So in love stamp set, with stamped leaves here and there... on the front layer, and after embossing, I used the Gold Wink-a-stella (more bling!) to highlight between the petals of the flower, (see image below)

Can you believe the Gold wink a stella is ALSO retiring???? So sad!!!

Gold Wink-a-stella highlights my petals beautifully!
I then die cut the belly band from gold foil, and set it aside momentarily.

Then I die cut 2 small intricate flowers from the special reason bundle (one in crumb cake, and one in gold foil) and then cut a backing flower from very vanilla, and layered them, slightly offset.

I then stamped and fussy cut the sentiment and border around my sentiment on very vanilla.

I wrapped my belly band around my stamped, and heat embossed very vanilla layer, and taped it securely, and then layered the entire very vanilla piece on to a gold foil layer, this created a lovely border.
I glued the fussy cut sentiment and placed it the space provided on the belly band, I added a bit of gold thread to my flower and popped it up on dimensions just to the left of the sentiment.  I then added this to my very vanilla card front.

Online card making class- registration is now CLOSED for this class- But keep an eye out for next months Class!
You can see I used the filagree edge die  in my class, and one of the belly band options on todays card. Here are some pics of what comes in the bundles- how beautiful are THEY???

So in love bundle

Special reason bundle.

Wow-BIG news this week-The Retiring list has been announced. Im Kinda bummed. It  means we are saying goodbye to many of my Favourites in a very small amount of time. Im going to be highlighting some of these great products over the next few weeks. It really is an amazing time to pick up some brilliant deals-on some things up to 50% off-on really popular items.

In addition to the retiring list-I have entered the Global design project again this week-Its one of my favourite challenges-a sketch challenge. here is our Sketch-

Chase your dreams and Gorgeous grunge GDP entry
I chose to use chase your dreams- because, frankly, I hadn't inked it yet!!!  I really wanted to before it retired. Its not one I will be getting rid of-I Love the fact that the Sydney Opera house is featured in a stamp set. I chose the Castle image- It reminds me of  Neuschwanstein castle...... I've been to Germany and Switzerland, but never quite got to see this amazing castle. Do you recognise it?

Yes, it's the DISNEY castle! I know they based the Disney castle on Neuschwanstein castle,  and I have a feeling the castle in this image IS the Neuschwanstein castle, maybe from a slightly lower angle..... What do you think?

Chase your dreams stamp set

The other stamp set I used is Gorgeous grunge. I'm SO SAD to see this one go-I use it almost weekly. Its one of those stamp sets that add a layer of interest you can't really put your finger on... but it really adds the finishing touch.

Global design project- Custom Tee

Its been a bad week this week-things have been CRAZY BUSY!! I wasnt feeling well earlier in the week either, and work has been backing up- but Im starting to get on top of things- and one of the projects I really wanted to have a go at was the global design project- Its a colour challenge this week- and it features one of my favourite colours- Night of Navy.
Click here to see all the fabulous designs form the design team!
I especially love the " free choice" option-it allows me to play with a few different combos. My immediate thought was Calypso coral-another of my favourites-but I also Saw Kylie Bertucci combo of mint macaron, and night of navy and LOVED it! so I did both combos.
I decided to make a few "welcome to the team" cards, as over the Sale-a-bration period, our team added 6 new people! - making a total of 9 people in my team-so exciting!

Custom Tee team member cards!

Everyone who made a purchase from my store in March will receive a wink-a-stella pen. One of my VIP customers asked what one was- and I explained that it was for adding shimmer to any project-but Its MUCH better to SHOW someone right?
When adding the colour to the Tee-shirts, instead of an aqua painter, I added the colour with a wink-a-stella pen. (you don't have to add colour, you can swipe it right over the top of an already coloured image) it not only added the colour I wanted, but a lovely shimmer of glittery-ness. I tried to capture that in the pics below.

Custom Tee-in the GDP!

I hope you enjoyed todays post-I'll be back on Sunday with another Post on some exciting news... You wont want to miss it!
I hope your day is as FABULOUS AS YOU ARE!!!

International Highlights Winners blog hop- All things Thanks

Im excited to be sharing todays card with you-last month I took part in Kylie Bertucci's international highlights. It was voted on by the public for a week, and my card was one of the the Top Ten most voted on cards-so Today I get to take part in todays INTERNATIONAL blog hop! HOW EXCITING!!
Check out the card I made HERE.
There are some VERY talented designers in todays Hop. If you want to be inspired, make sure you check everyones cards out-We have all used the sale stamp set- All Things Thanks

I really like this card, especially because I feel a bit like Ive lost my creative juices this week. I haven't felt very well, and thats never good for creativity!

High Tide, paired with all things thanks stamp sets.

for bling I added metallic thread and sequins.

How to make todays Card-

  • I fell in LOVE with the High tide stamp set form the Occasions catalog-I'm a fan of 2 or 3 step stamping, and THIS set is particularly east to use. Lining up the layers was a snap. (some sets are more challenging, but I got this right first go)
  • I stamped with crumb cake (on a piece of whisper white) for my first stamping, getting that lovely detail at the top of the light house. Then, I stamped the colour-Cherry cobbler-over the top. I fussy cut the light house out, added a bit of metallic thread to the back, and added foam strips for dimension.
  • I then die cut a stitched frame square, and stamped the sea side back ground, and popped my light house on to the top. I added this to my card which had been layered with a piece of kraft cardstock and a piece of paper from the Tasty treats Designer series paper.
  • I gold heat embossed the lovely sentiment from our STAR stamp set today, All things Thanks, on a piece of vellum and added that to the top of my card. ( I actually lifted by light house slightly to get the velum to sit underneath it)

I hope you like todays card- and please check out all the other amazing creations on todays blog hop!
