Up in the air- Global design project

Have you got an embarrassing craft habit? I think I do....Ribbon hoarding. I needed 1 piece of white bakers twine, for this weeks global design projects project, and went to my ribbon scrap heap. (see photo below. IT REALLY IS A HEAP!!)
NOPE- I didn't have any, but my shame over the AMOUNT of ribbon scraps I hoard, made me use some of them in todays project. lol.

Todays FABULOUS challenge is "case the designer" and what an amazing designer we are CASE-ing today-Krista Frattin. SUCH a talented artist.  Heres the card we are CASE-ing (copy-and-selectivly-edit) today
Click here to let the designers, and other entries inspire you!
Here is my entry-

Lift me up and thoughtful banners bundles

ribbon "scraps"-I'm a ribbon hoarder!!

I DO love ribbons though!

use up your scraps!!

Tip of the day-To Use up some of my ribbon, I taped a long piece of (retired) night of navy ribbon along the long side of the card, and then tied either bows (if I had enough of that sort of ribbon) or flat knots (if I didn't) along it.

I hope YOU enjoyed todays project, and it makes you use up some of the ribbon YOU might hoard too!!
Have a great day- with a little creativity thrown it!!

Inside the lines

Don't you love NEW ideas? I LOVE to create, and I especially get over the top excited, if I manage to have  an idea on how to use something I've had for a while, in a new, fresh, way.
Stampin up have, for Sale-a-bration, produced something entirely NEW and FRESH.

Inside the lines Designer series paper. Ive never seen DSP like it.
We all know that adult colouring in books have been HUGE for a while now- and to transfer that idea into DSP that you can make ENTIRELY your own, by colouring-OR (if you prefer) NOT COLOURING-is just awesome!
Here is the Stampin up tutorial video to give you some ideas of how you can use this fabulous DSP.

the "Inside the lines" dsp is beautiful to work with, and I love to use the new watercolour pencils with it.
Louise Sharp on the brand new fortnightly hop-"BE inspired, design team hop" inspired (lol) my card today. If you would like some inspiration, make sure you "hop" on over to check them all out!
Click the LINK HERE to go and see the amazing designs!

Here is my sample-

Inside the lines DSP, sentiment from the stamp set, special reason
Inside the lines-FREE DSP,
coloured with water colour pencil (real red) and a real red marker,
then finished with a blender pen.

Inside the lines DSP

What Do you think? It' so easy to colour, whether you are using the watercolour pencils, or the markers, or both together, as I did today. I actually think using the pencils and the markers together is perfect, because the pencils make blending the markers MUCH easier to blend!!

And heres the best bit. THE DESIGNER SERIES PAPER IS FREE with any qualifying order!!
 (any $90 order)
How amazing is that?

FREE is such a great word isn't it?
speaking of free-
My host code club is in full swing, and anyone who purchases with me ($50 minimum) this month will receive a FREE embossing folder for the month of January! remember to use my monthly host code (AHJPC3HH)to get great rewards!

I hope you enjoyed todays post, and I hope you can squeeze in some creativity in today!!

Special reason stamp set in the Paper craft crew challenge

Don't you just LOVE getting deliveries-especially in big brown boxes?
I had a "big brown box" (BBB) delivery last week, All the way from Stampin Up- and I was keen to use some of my new stamp sets and Dies that were in that glorious box, soI had another play with the paper craft crew this week- Here is there challenge-

click the above pic to go to the Paper craft crew blog, to check out the design teams ideas!
It was a great challenge for me, because these aren't colours that I would normally put together.

I chose the deep red, plum, and grey/metalic combination.
The colours I used were-cherry cobbler, wisteria wonder, and silver foil. I was happy to see that whisper white, very vanilla, grey, black and browns were "FREE" colours- and Im hoping the Sahara sand in the Designer series paper "falling in love" that I used comes into the "browns"
I would have loved to add some Rhinestones, but I have run out, and forgot to add them to my last order, so it seems another order is imminent. lol-not a bad thing during sale-a-bration!!

"Special Reason" stamp set, and "stylish stems" framelit dies

Thanks so much for popping by my Blog-I really appreciate so much your comments! I hope you get to squeeze in some creativity into your day!

Jar of Love stamp set, 2 challenges in one!!

Hello Everyone!
I"m so excited to announce that I was a winner at the TGIF challenge blog last week! Wow what an honor! So exciting for me  too, because It was the first time I have won a TGIF challenge!

Wow- I thought Id have a go at the Just add ink interactive challenge, and the TGIF challenge.
This weeks TGIF challenge is  a great one, and a type of card that we should always have on hand-
Cards of LOVE!
Just add inks challenge is also heaps of fun- INTERACTIVE cards!
Click the link to see the designers blog hop, and the other entries!

Isn't it true, that Love makes the world go around? (or, it should! lol)
TGIF challenge page reminded us of their favourite Quote on love, from a movie, and at the end of todays post, I'd like to share my 2 favourite movie quotes about love.

The Quote from the movie the Notebook that the TGIF blog cited was-
The best love is the kind that awakens the soul; that makes us reach for more, that plants the fire in our hearts and brings peace to our minds.”
Isn't That just gorgeous? Whats YOUR favourite romantic quote from a movie?

Here is my interactive LOVE FILLED entry-

Every day Jars Die set, along with a knife from the "cups and Kettles " dies from last years occasions  catalog. (which I think retired too soon! lol)

Jar of love stamp set.

The Jar of love stamp set just has SO many possibilities. I LOVE all the options you have with this stamp and Die bundle. This card could be used in so many situations- but the stamp set could be used for EVEN more situations, and occasions.

Jar of Love stamp set and die bundle
This Stamp set, as you can see, has heaps of stamps (don't you just love the goldfish???) including 3 sizes of Jars (I used the middle size)  The Die set is also amazingly well packed- with lots of options of card styles (AND NO FUSSY CUTTING! YAY!!) AND a die that cuts out the middle so that you can make interactive shaker cards as I have done today. It means GREAT VALUE when you consider you get 10% off for bundling them together!
During saleabration buying the bundle, also means an automatic FREE sale-a-bration item- EVEN MORE VALUE!! Its Well worth getting this bundle NOW- so you can take advantage of all the value you get within this bundle!

In spirit of this weeks challenge, I would like to leave you with my 2 favourite romantic quotes from movies I Love-
"I vow to fiercely love you in all your forms, Now and forever. I promise to never forget that this is a once in a lifetime love. I vow to love you, and no matter what challenges might carry us apart, we will always find a way back to each other" - The Vow

AWWWWWWW! it made me tear up just typing that!!

Here is the other-can you guess what movie? (yes, I'm a sap.)

"You have bewitched me, body and soul, and I love...I love... I love you. I never wish to be parted from you from this day on."-Sense and sensibility

I hope you enjoyed todays post, and, I hope your day is as fabulous as you are!

#GDP71 Off the page!

Another Global design project challenge- and this weeks is a doosy! Off the page isn't something I do a lot of-but I see such amazing demonstrator projects on pinterest, that occasionally, I love to have a go myself!

This Challenge is EXCELLENT. Perfect timing too-because when I saw what the challenge was, I realised that  I had just made team gifts last week, but that I hadn't blogged about them yet, but that would totally fit this challenge!

Back when Stampin up produced "Blendabitlites" (***sigh. blendabilities. I miss those...) I bought this shrinky dink paper. Its AWESOME-and can be coloured with alcohol based inks and markers.
Since I gave up my markers though, I haven't really used it much, but I really wanted to make something for my team for sale-a-bration. so pulled them out to make some scissor savers! (or key rings-whichever you prefer...)

Here is my entry!
Key chain...

...Scissor saver!
I made Scissor savers (attach the ring to your scissors so that you never lose them in a class or event again!-I later attached a key chain as well, in case one of the team would prefer to attach them to their keys!)
Cute don't you think? that Teeny-tiny little tasty truck with its MINISCULE little ice creams-

Heres how-
1-stamp the tasty truck stamp in stays on ink onto the shrinky dink plastic. after this, cut out the shape leaving a decent white gap, Using a hole punch, cut out a hole to attach a link to later.
Prep-ing images for baking.
2-Put a toothpick in the hole for the link (that stops it closing up when baking) and place on a lined baking tray and put in the oven for 5-10 mins. I always check at the 5 min mark to make sure they aren't touching or haven't gotten caught around the end of the tooth pick. They move DRAMATICALLY during baking.
size comparison after baking
3-When they are the desired size carefully take the tray out of the oven, and flatten with a gloved hand. CAUTION! THEY ARE HOT!
...scissor saver or...
4-Attach the ribbons, link, and rings (for scissor savers) and a key chain attachment, if desired
...key rings!...
A few weeks ago I made these cards for my team, so when I was creating the shrinky dink scissor savers, I tried to think of an idea that would allow them to match with the cards.... I love  ribbons, and I had managed to recently buy some ribbon that matched mint macaron from an outside craft shop, so I teamed the sweet sugarplum SU ribbon with the mint macaron I had snagged, and together, they seemed to match with the cards well.
Tasty trucks gift cards
how they arrived-
attaching the team gift to the card.

I hope you like my "off the page" attempt- Im really still a learner at managing to create handmade gifts, but I really enjoyed making these!

I'd LOVE to send you one too-why not join my team?

CASING Valerie Moody

Wow! What a fantastic Opportunity it is to CASE (copy and selectively edit) one of Val Moody's cards! She is an amazingly talented, super creative artist, and is an ARTISAN for Stampin Up!
She is PARTICULARLY fantastic at a style of card making I am not the best at-Clean and simple...
I was pinterest stalking her in anticipation of this blog hop, and was in awe of her.....She creates such beautiful, beautiful cards. Here is the one I have chosen to case. please click the below photo to go to her blog, Stampin with Val to check out her beautiful designs.

Click the picture to go to Vals Blog post on this amazing Card!

Here is the card I have made.

As you can see, I kept adding.... lol.

I had already decided to Use the frozen treats strawberries. I only got the stamp and die bundle in the mail on Friday, and was keen to use them, and when I was looking for a sentiment to use with the tiny strawberries, I came across the Fresh fruit stamp set in my collection, from the annual catalog. (Isn't it weird how when the Occasions catalog comes out, all other sets temporarily go out the window, while you enjoy playing with the new...!) Well, I couldn't pass up the opportunity to combine the 2 together-stamped strawberries from the Fresh fruit stamp set, and the die cut baby strawberries from the frozen treats die set.

Fresh Fruit take on Val's card, made with the Jar of love stamp set
After I had die cut and added the strawberries to my sentiment panel, I decided my berries needed to be shiny, so I added some glue from the fine tipped glue pen, and Let it dry.

Stitched shape framelits frame.

Frozen treat strawberry dies.

I LOVE these tiny strawberries- and the cucumber crush green tops POP on all that real red card stock. I cut a cucumber crush strawberry, and a real read strawberry, and cut the top off the green ones and added the teeny tiny greenery to the red strawberries, but realised after, (DUH!) that it would have been easier to cut the tops off the real red strawberries, and layered them on the green ones. so don't do what I did!! Make it easy for yourself!

the watercolored style stamped fruit makes a cute little highlight for the inside of the card too!

I hope you enjoy out blog hop today-Make sure you go to every one in the Hop, and check out MORE of Val's creations, AND, the crazy crafters take on them!

Every day Hero, PCC#228

If you recall back to Tuesdays Post, Our car got working for the first time in almost 4 weeks this week, and Im REALLY grateful to the family and Friends that helped us getting it back on the roadE  Our brother in law was on  holidays,  So it was particularly precious time, and our friend came in the evening after the work- he LAST thing you want to do is work on another car when that's all you have been doing all day...
I have a set, that I know would-be perfect for both of these guys, and I just wanted a good sketch to help me with the layout- and I found it! I have used the Paper craft crews sketch challenge this week-

Paper craft crew #228

...sympathy cards...

Sympathy cards are really difficult.
I was a bit stumped, so I used the sketch from the TGIF challenge blog (again)

I hope you like my entry:

TGIF challenge card

Flourishing phrases, best birds and Banners for you stamp sets
I kept my colouring really subtle-Slate grey cardstock, framed by Early espresso, basic grey scalloped matt, and a whisper white sentiment on the stitched oval. The bird was coloured by the new watercolour pencils, in smokey slate, early espresso. The beak was daffodil delight and pumpkin pie.

It was the first time I have ever used the woodland Embossing folder. After I had run the smokey slate card stock through the big shot, I dabbed the card stock directly with the smokey slate ink pad, giving it a rough colour.

Wood lands Embossing folder. Card coloured with smokey slate
I hope this card lets the family know how much was are thinking of them.

Global design project, Sketch challenge ANOTHER entry!

I told you I would be having another go at this challenge- I just didn't realise how quickly!!

I had an idea, while I was at work. I was thinking about how proud I am of my Hubbie. (He pops in here occasionally-Create with Carl-) I wanted to do something nice for him.

On the holidays our Car broke down. Of course, being the holidays, all mechanics were closed, so, no car. Well, Carl, with great patience, worked on our car. Now, Cars ARENT his thing, let me tell you, and we really had no idea why it wouldn't go-one minute it did, and the next it didn't. It was Very Frustrating. Carl has been working on the car, our Brother-in-law Shane came and helped, as did a very good friend, and finally-after 4 weeks, and MANY hours of hard work, on Monday (yesterday) he turned the key, and BANG-the engine started.   I almost cried.

My wonderful Hubbie

Well, as I said, I was thinking about how I wanted to do something nice-I often make cards and surprise him by putting them in his lunch box, (lol, sappy I know.) my eyes rested on a card I made a few weeks ago, using the tasty trucks stamp set. Now, something you might not know about Carl is that he is a truck driver. It Occurred to me, that with a little masking, I could make the food truck into a little truck- well, thats what I did!!
here is the GDP sketch-

And Here is my entry-what do you think?

For My Carl x

Tasty trucks, Nailed it bundle, and the Hexagon Dynamic textured Impressions
Embossing Folder
Im in love with the Nailed it bundle!

At first I was going to glue the nuts down, (its nuts and bolts isn't it?) But then I thought about how in the sketch there is those lines above the solid rectangle block, and I thought I would thread them on some metallic thread.  Doesn't the shine of the Hexagon Dynamic textured Impressions (what a mouthful!) Silver foil strip really POP!

The other 2 sneaky stamp set I used are "whats your type?" (for the truck "tray")
and "Words of truth"(sentiment) both of these are great sets, but are unfortunately retired.

I'm in love with this card, and I hope he likes it too x Have a great week!
