5 cards in 5 days...

good morning!!
I should have called this blog- glitter on my dressing gown- because that's what ends up happening! lol
Carl goes off  to work,( around 6.30 ish) and because my clients don't start coming for a few hours yet i do a bit of reading and then make a card or two while I have breakfast., ....... glitter just goes everywhere doesnt it? especially embossing powder that has a glittery effect- that's what i was using today.

I have an embossing workshop in a week and a half- on the 8th of April (if you wish to express interest, or rsvp,go to the "order stampin up online" button, which takes you to me stampin up web site, and click on events, april 8th and you can rsvp if you plan on coming!) and i wanted to get together a few cards to display on the night. i think Ive managed a couple of acceptable ones.... what do you think?
this orange blossoms card, features dry embossing Hi lighted in stampin up old olive ink, with SU (stampin up) old olive and pumpkin pie card stock

I love this card! it was inspired by Sharon Burkert on her "as the ink dries" blog. it uses the SU stippled blossoms stamp set- this is an amazing set, i love it! each flower and leaf has 2 stamps, one you do in a lighter color  and the other you stamp directly on the top, as a highlight. you end up getting that water color effect- beautiful! the inks i used were : the lower color- tempting turquoise, then pacific point on to as the highlight. On the leaves i used old olive, and a gold embossing powder as my highlight. (unfortunately you cant see it that well...)
for the sentiment i used "remember when" from the stampin up word play set.
i also used a random embossing folder that i had....
I hope you like it!
have a fantastic day!

ps- i did it- 5 cards in 5 days!!! lol see you next week! pet x

All things that glitter.........

hello- i hope you are all having a great day!!its a bit colder today....... its overcast here in Tassie  and it wont be long and the winter will definitely be here.... *sigh*

Yesterday when Carl saw my cards (his favorite was the hot air balloon one...;-))he challenged me to doing 5 cards a week for a month (seeing as we are just starting April)
SO.......I thought this was a very reasonable goal, a card doesn't take too long to make, (as I  have another job, i work from home as a massage therapist, and I do volunteer work regularly as well.... we all lead such busy lives!!!  )and i can sell the multitude of cards from the clinic..... so.... here I go!!!

Oooooooooooo every girl loves a bit of bling doesn't she???? well in card making that rule definitely apply's, there is so much type of bling to choose from (and it is sooooooooooooo much cheaper than other options if a girl is looking for a little pick-me-up!!) glitter card stock glitter pens, actual glitter, rhinestones, diamond cut buttons, glittery embossing powder.............. and the list goes on!!
well, in response to a less than sparkling day- I've chosen the bling theme to brighten our day!

so here is my blinggy card for today.
I used:
Stampin up glitter paper for the bottom section- you cant see it very well in the pic-
lilac ribbon over some concertinaed paper.
the stamp set is from the Stampin up mixed bunch set
ink: rich razzelberry
and cut outs are from a stampin up punch that coordinates with the mixed bunch set
some pink rhinestones for the center of the flowers.........

I hope you like!!

Wonderful Wednesday!!!

good morning everyone! i hope you are having a great day! the weather in Tassie is spectacular today- i hope its as lovely where you are!
I decided to post a few cards today- seeing as I learned how to post them- so here we have :

this card has used the stampin up brights collection inks and paper, and the up up and away stamp set. nice and simple for a young man..... it also used a big shot embossing folder......

we have an embossing workshop coming up if you would like to have a play with various embossing techniques- the 8th of April, go to my stampin up web page- http://tailoredcraftiness.stampinup.net and RSVP!

who knew yellow and pink looked so good together!! this is again using the brights collection and the stippled blossoms stamp set!

happy stampin!

My first demo! (Post demo)

Well, the day did not start well. We had torrential rains for pretty much the whole day- I was SURE no one would come. I sent out a few texts confirming numbers, and mostly everyone was still happy to come despite the weather..... It's nice to be holed up inside creating things for those you love, on a rainy day though isn't it?........ So that was a relief.
At 6 sharp, people started arriving, there was coffee, cupcakes, and a platter of cheeses to be had, but much to my surprise but everyone just wanted to get started!! That's a good lesson to hostesses- keep it as simple as possible!! So- we started. I've done this so many times before, (for friends, my nieces and nephews) but I was so nervous! It was silly!! The ladies were lovely, and we had so much fun.
It was such a pleasure to help everyone, and get the, creating something beautiful. They all did too.... I look forward to doing it again, on the 8 th of April. Please feel free to email or text me if you re in the Evandale area in Tasmania and wish to come!

First demo (pre demo)

Well today's the big day- my first demo!! How exciting!! I'm planning to take pics, and post them- if I can figure out how lol- I'm prepared, I'm going to demonstrate 2, using similar techniques, and then do a make and take. Anybody else get the jitters when doing their first? I'm so nervous- convinced that no one will come- the weather has been so bad today- I hope no one looks out side and says...... No way!! It's too cold to go out! (This is tassie after all- if that happens, I'll never do a successful workshop, hahaha)  anyway, I'll keep this site posted!!

Preparing for my first workshop!

I got my stampin up package yesterday morning- JOY!!! It's so weird- I'm excited! I almost feel a little guilty....
I mean I love papercraft, especially cardmaking- it's not like I haven't felt excited by my craft before- but, let me explain-
For the past year our family has been going through a traumatic set of circumstances, sickness of a loved one ....
Meanwhile my wonderful husbands tiling business, gecko tiling has s-l-o-w-e-d. Distressing times.

-but Ive always believed strongly if you look after yourself- physically, spiritually and mentally,  then you become the optimal version of yourself, so that you can look after others- that's where happiness lies!! The adage :  "There is more happiness in giving than in receiving"   is so true.
Papercraft during this hard time has been like therapy to me, and I thank all those that have helped me along the way to enjoy it so much- and I hope to do the same for others........

So please, come on my journey with me.... Let us see where it takes us....:-)
